strange problem....HELP....

I have a strange peoblem with my sims. Ok you know how you start it, then it loads up, then you get to choose who or what family to go into,.........well after I do all this it shows just the view of the whole town. There are no icons to push ...nothing! I can't even quit the game. Nothing is on the left side for me to choose. I have all the eps installed and yes I do have it fully patched up to date. Anyone else have this odd problem? I wish I could printscreen it, but alll I get is a black screen. HELP!!

Do you have any CC in the game? If so, take it out and try it again. If it still does it, make sure your patches are up to date. Also, make sure you have cleaned out the cache files in your game. It may be a mod or slider causing this if you have any in your game.

I think I have fixed the problem......I hope so anyways. I have all my packages into merged files, so I took out the last 6 files and ran them through Delphy dashboard. It found numerous duplicated files and a few corrupt ones. Fixed what I could & deleted some and now it seems to work ok for now. I really didn't want to uninstall & reinstall again.

Well that was not the problem. When I go into a town and pick a new family to play, it doesn't really load it. It will put the family in the house/lot, but dose not go into that area...know what I mean? It hangs in the view of the whole town. Nothing is on the left side like the icons to edit town etc. I have to use the cheat box (shift, ctrl + C) to quit the game. Hmmm...this happened after I install Showtime.

Try uninstalling Showtime, then reinstall it. One of mine did this one time and I ended up doing that and it worked. Maybe it will for you too.

Well uninstalled Showtime & installed it and it still does that to me.
