Is there a limit?

I'm playing again now, and I've just went through all of my downloads in the game. I deleted what I don't need, and downloaded some new things from the past months. I have now 36.093 files in my Downloads folder, and its size is 4.5 GB (I use the compressorizer, all of my files are compressorized). Now, whenewer I want to put something new in my downloads folder, the game crashes. So I was wondering if there is a "limit" for the maximum number of files that you can have in your Downloads folder. What do you think, or what should I do? Thanks in advance for any help!

I know about one person, Julsfels from Fairyforest, who have the same problem.
She said, it's because of the number of meshes - she mentioned that there is a limit with meshes.
When the limit is reached, she can't put any new meshes in her game until she deleted some older ones.

It's only with meshes, not with recols, walls oder floors.

second possibility is that your pc system isn't strong enogh to manage more DL.
Or that you have an invalid download.

My downloadfolder only with build- and buy-mode is 13,1 GB with over 52000 files... (just for comparision)

Thank you for the quick answer, Kerstin! I think I should make a scan for bad files. We can never now I heard about something with SimPE. Is it true that you can make a scan for broken files with the program? If yes, I'd like to ask how

Oh I guess this means I have to delete meshes. Ohhh......

Kristof, no, there isn't any programm that really can find bad/invalid files - you must do it manually.
The Cleaninstaller can find files that are double, Delphy's Dowmnloadorganizer can find meshes without recol an recols without meshes - and I guess it can say what kind of file it is, recol, mesh, wall etc

I have the same problem and I don't believe that it depends on the pc. My new pc is really powerful but the game crashes, when the dl folder comes by the 23.000 files, like it did before with my old comp. There are mostly meshes in my dl folder, not so many recolors and not too much bodyshop stuff.
The only chance to hold more CC is to uninstall EPs or SPs. I had about 40.000 files before I installed Freetime!

There is a tutorial at GoS, which should help. I've tested it without result.

Kris hon, IF the problem is only the amount of CC that the game can handle to avoid crashings (and not corrupted files in the Downloads folder) I think that THIS thread could help you.

I have 2 games folders in my pc at this moment. The smaller one has 7.90 GB (38,706 compressed files) and the huge one has 11.0 GB (50,920 compressed files). I'm continously adding CC and recolors to them and I don't have problems loading and/or using any of them. I also have all EP's and SP's. I don't have game crashings anymore since I did what the thread suggests because the game has been working like a charm. In my own experience it also removed the lag issues and improved the time in CAS. Though I know you manage better than me the tech aspects from the game, my only advice is to read ALL the thread thoroughly in order to follow the directions correctly.

Hello Kris !
I know the problem is surely solved for now I want to write my testomony about what's happened in my game when I only played with Academy,NL,OFB and H&M kit .Maybe it could help people to understand there's absolutely a limit of download the game affords .
At that time I was allowed to have 30.000 custom contents in my game to play , I couldn't add more custom contents in my download folder my game crashed in the middle of the loading suddently and immediately.It was very a pain to me,I forced myself to be always under 30.000 ccs.
Nowadays I've got all the EPs and almost all the SPs , my download folder increases I've this problem no more,my game tooks hours before playing as usual (if I add my bodyshop folder more I've to wait forever)
I'd added more ram and I've changed my graphic card, between time windows downloaded the direct x 11.
I ignore the limit of downloads when you have almost every games I'm sure a limit could exist , if only I knew the maximum numbers the game is allowed to read before problems.

Maybe I'm not completely in the discussion I don't want to open a new thread for this, That's a parenthesis please consider it as.
