DOTY (Designer Of The Year) is a contest BPS hosts every year starting at the beginning of April. We're on our 5th year of DOTY this year!
08's winner was Terri and 09's winner was Lmhwjs, 2010 saw the very talented SixtyTen take the title and Meganfranc blew us away in 2011. Could your name be added to the DOTY hall of fame in 2012?
This years DOTY will be based around famous characters from the world of books and movies. You will be given a character, a room, a square allowance and a basic colour scheme. The rest will be down to your imagination and how you interpret the round requirements.
Each round you will be presented with a completely different character that requires very different schemes in terms of decor. You will be working with the same rooms at the same time, so it's also a challenge to come up with something unique using the same space as your competitors.

* No more than 6 (six) pictures per person, per round. You can combine images in a collage to count as 1 picture.
* Only one application per person.
* Only ONE game. You can not enter using Sims 2 and again using Sims 3.
* Image guidelines must be adhered to, images must be 800x800 or below.
* You must put your name and info in the title of ALL your entry posts.
* No drop outs please...if you think you won’t be avaliable for ALL rounds, please do not enter.
* Staff and Designers can enter for fun if they wish to but they may not enter the final round.

Rounds will run according to the GMT timezone. A countdown will be provided for each round so you know when it ends no matter what timezone you are in.
Each round will last 7 (seven) days. You can post your entry for the current round anytime within these 7 days.
Extensions may be given upon request via PM with 24 hours notice.

Round 3 - Monday April 16th - Monday April 23rd
Round 4 - Tuesday April 24th - Tuesday May 1st
Round 5 - Wednesday May 2nd - Wednesday May 9th
Final Results - Thursday May 10th
All dates are approximate.
When judging we will be looking for all sorts of things. We will be checking that the rules for each round have been followed and the pointers given have been followed. We will be looking to see that the designs are applicable for the given character and we will be looking for that something extra, uniquness, flair, something that makes you stand out from the other entries. Picture taking and camera angles are also important.

After each round the entries will be judged and scored.
You will be judged on creativity and your over all look to the pics AND how well you followed round instructions.
Each entry can score a maximum of 20 from each judge giving a maximum of 100 points per round.
Each judge will name their 3 favourite picture from all of the entries. If your picture is called as a favourite you will earn an extra 2 points to your total.
When all the results are sent to me I will total them all up and post the top 5 entries each round.

Eliminations
After Round 2 results I will post our top 25, the names not called will be those who have been eliminated.
After Round 3 there will be a top 15 callout and for the end of Round 4 the top 5 finalists will be called.
Those who make it through to Round 3 will be the members who scored highest over both Round 1 AND Round 2 together.
Eliminations for Round 3 & 4 will be based on their own round score and will not be accumalative.
The winner of the final will be the member who has the highest score added up together over all 5 rounds.
There will be NO eliminations until the end of Round 2. Therefore everyone will get to partake in round 1 & 2.

If you play/use both games you may have both prizes.
To receive the participants prize you must compete in both Round 1 and Round 2.
All finalists will receive a treasure chest prize.
