    Eye Recoloring Glass in Paintshop or Paint Net (Solved)

    I just had a quick question as to who would know how to recolor glass once you put it in Paint Net or Paintshop Pro. For example, I want to replace the traditional clear glass with maybe a cracked glass, but when I put the original mesh recolor in Paintshop, it had that crytalized look. I was wondering if I can just put the cracked glass texture over that or do I do something else after that?

    It's been awhile since I made a glass recolor for the Sims 2, if I remember correctly I used to erase the original and replaced it with my own glass texture.
    You also need to play around with the transparency until you get it to look the way you want.

    I just realized you said the original is clear, in that case just try to place your texture over it, don't know what you mean by crystallized.

    Maybe show as a pic?

    Dee, sorry I don't have any pics right now, but I'm having trouble with photobucket for some reason. I tried putting my texture (the cracked glass texture) on top of the original glass texture in Paint Net but they are not turning out transparent like glass. So, I was wondering if I had to do something else in Paint Net to make this happen? Hopefully, photobucket will let me upload my pictures tomorrow. Get back with you.

    You need to change the opacity to something less than 100 % in your graphics program, are you sure the glass can be recolored?

    Not being familiar with Photoshop and not knowing Paint.net at all, I can't really say but here is a pic from Paint Shop Pro, I right clicked on the layer/properties and I get this.




    Edit: You also need to save your texture as .png.

    Doris, that did the trick! The textures turned out a little bit lighter than I wanted them to, but I guess if I keep playing around with the opacity button it will eventually turn out right. Thanks for your help!
