I agree with Mamie! I use Photoshop Elements too, verson 8 or 9 I think... it has everything you need to manipulate images for the sims RCing etc... and it's definitely a lot cheaper.

Mamie, can I ask, which topaz bits do you use? I had a look at them a while back but got a bit overwhelemed by the choice and couldn't find much that I could understand about what each one did and where their functions overlapped. Basically I just make RCs and do the occasional set of screenshots of houses I've decorated. I originally wanted vivacity for the scaling-up and sharpening of images but found they didn't do it any longer. Any advice/opinions are welcome!

PS - sorry for jumping on your thread and hijacking it Lisa, but I guess it's relevant!

Yea Lila, the original Vivacity contained a combination of selected plug-ins and performed the functions in just one click, which is what I luv about it. Now you have to purchase each of those plug-ins separately or choose a bundle which contains each of the plug-ins you want. I bought these as well, because I did not know any better and by far I use Vivacity the most. However I have recently started to use these packages and have found some really neat functions that Vivacity does not offer. I recommend the following:

Adjust, Details, Clean, B&W Effects, and Lens Effect (I just tried this one and I loved it)

You can try these packages free for 30 days, but be warned.....it is highly additive and hard to give up once you've used it (LOL).

Here is a link to Vivacity page and for each of the function which were included Vivacity, there is a link to the package that perform that same function: http://www.topazlabs.com/vivacity/ I hope this makes sense.

Lisa, actually if you take a look again you will notice that photoshop element 10 now includes video editing, this is the latest package. If you just want photoshop element then you will need to look for photoshop element 9 or lower and Amazon is where you need to look.

Aaaah, you're a star Mamie! That's really helpful. Thanks so much! And thanks for the warning on it being addictive, haha...

Lisa, I would definitely try and get your copy of whichever one you choose from a reputable seller, ie, NOT someone on ebay - so many copies are fakes and are therefore unsupported if anything should happen to go wrong (I've had mine a few years now though and nothing's gone wrong - it's just a precaution!)
