Thanks for all the help and advice!

Dee - I'm going to remap the UV with the pieces not so close together and not so close to the edges.

Twinkle - I think I get what you mean. Place the base using the box tool, then use its coordinates as a guide to place the vertices for the back piece. Join the vertices together into a face (?plane?) and extrude upward. I'll give that a shot. I think that would solve my gap problem nicely.

AngelaMVeliza - I'm using Milkshape for everything, and I'm not finding the controls very user friendly. Also, the gap shows up prominently in the program you are using whereas it's barely noticeable in Milkshape's 3D view. Are you using Wings? I might have to give that a shot...

And here is my .wrk file - http://www.mediafire.com/?a9133bw68fx4tiz I hope the feedback so far is going to solve my issues though. I'll post again if I'm still having problems.

I find meshing for the most part in Milkshape to be difficult, I use wings which I believe both Dee and Angela use as well for most of their meshing.

To better explain what I was talking about, here are some images - done in Wings:

I really have no idea why the bottom of the bunny is screwed up, because when I checked in UV mapper the texture looks fine.

Something else I noticed - the tiling of your patterns are off, try 1,1 not 0.5,1 with that setting squares come out as rectangles, in other words the texture gets stretched.

Have you checked in game yet? I don't understand why one site is okay and not the other on the bunny that is.
You should check your specular map, when you rotate your object in the workshop, you have blocks of shininess what shouldn't be there.

Thanks, for explaining, Tinkle. I don't know which one would actually be easier in terms of steps to achieve the same outcome, but Wings seems like it may be more versatile overall. Wings seems a bit more like Google Sketchup (which I am familiar with from working with my students), or maybe in between Milkshape and Sketchup in terms of intuitiveness/difficulty of use. Either way, it looks like it's worth checking out.

Oh, thanks Dee! I didn't change that setting from the object I cloned (cow plant). I'll pay attention to that in the future. I guess you would only want .5,1 if you had something more rectangular shaped like a coffee table or sofa?

If you mesh something you should pick a object what is close to what you want to make, if you want to make a rectangular coffee table you choose a clone what is the same shape, that applies to most things, then you don't have to change the tiling at all.

But you can see in the workshop's preview window how it looks while you are changing it.
