Default [How to Fix patch 1.26 Problems]Word of warning about latest patch....

Ok I installed the newest patch and now my game is VERY messed up!
Sim panels can't be seen, sims can't change clothes, sinks are going through the cabnets, chairs are center in the middle of the table (can't put them back to normal), when sims are in change appearance mode I can't get them back in game. NOT very happy with this new patch!!!

Not all CC is broken it is just CC objects containing slots, animations, or interactions. So your CC dressers, bookcases windows, doors tables, chairs, beds, bars, barstools etc will not work. Theoretically deco objects that don't use slot resources will be fine but it is best to test them anyways. CAS items, patterns, custom walls and floors, accessories and defaults should be fine as should anything made by EA esp if you downloaded the last Store patch. CC in Sims 3 Packs is also borked so you aren't even safe this time if something was made in TSRW.

Inge has figured out how to fix this and Delphy is supposed to be working on a batch tool so that creators can update their own content faster and friendly volunteers can update content from dead sites like Simpossible and SimNational faster. At the moment creators are having to fix objects one file at a time which is a slow and painstaking process. A tutorial is also being worked on for how to fix the problem. So don't freak out yet.

This happened with Sims 2 Pets as well, everything had to be updated for Pets and CC objects did not work properly if they weren't updated properly. If I remember right it was also a problem with Sims 1 Pets. Anytime they add new interactions to objects you can expect game borkage. I am not happy about it but don't plan to patch til I buy Pets anyways. I can live with just CAS and CAST stuff for awhile.

The only thing you can really do is do what you did during the World Adventures Blue Lot Crisis of 2009 and the Late Night Custom Doors and Windows Disaster and test your CC one object at a time, remove anything that doesn't work in a separate file so you know that is what needs updating by the creators or friendly volunteers.

Yikes!! I'm glad I saw this before I patched my game..I knew something was going to go horribly wrong. I had a terrible time with Generations as well and I don't plan on installing Pets until all the bugs are worked out. I'm sorry Linda & Kathy that your games are all messed up now.

Well..its my own fault. normally i dont patch so fast BUT with pets due out (today) i thot id get the prelims out of the way.. and yes like Linda im sorry i did lol.
Slotted items yes, also tho bathtubs dont fill with water and sinks dont show running water( there again its the CC items). I logged in after the patch for a bit and my game is totally retarded haha. I completely removed my mods folder for now. This is the ONLY patch for an upcoming expansion i have ever had probs with..so i guess it was MY time :P
Guess ill have to play a VERY vanilla game for a while. Live and learn LOL

    * On a more positive note...the collections folders are WONDERFUL!

And Table lamps !!!! They have become half invisible or they can no more be put on tables !

Stupid me, I was so impatient to get my hands on collections that I installed this catastrophic patch....

Your lamps are probably not working because you are trying to place them on a custom table or because they use the part of the game coding that has changed to add extra slots for the new EP , custom bathtubs also have slots for the rubber ducky and bubblebath and sinks have them so you can place paper towels etc

Are the collections folders to be part of the 'Pets' expansion? I thought I was fully patched, but I don't see collections and I don't seem to have any issues.........though I don't actually play the game.

Deestar, Thank you so much. Yes, I begin to undertstand that the problem is the tables, not the lamps. I'll give a try to Inge's fix, even if its difficult for a very basic S3pe user...!

Lets hope that Delphy,Inge,Peter or another genius will find a batch fix.

Debmac, if you don't see collections, it probably means that you don't have the patch (Lucky you!).
