Back From the Dead
God, I have missed this site!
I have been on holiday for nine weeks, touring France and Italy with my husband, in our caravan....and before you think, "Oooh lucky you!", it was a holiday interspersed by a catalogue of disasters. First we went to Annecy on the French, Italian border, where it pissed with rain for days on end, accompanied by strong winds, and so cold at nights we had to put on the electric fire (this was third week in July). Next we move on to Como, where it also pissed with rain for the first four days, leaving our site like a bog, and thereafter we were eaten alive by voracious insects (yes, I did use the proper lotions....in fact I used them THREE TIMES A DAY...to no avail and was bitten in places no self respecting mosquito would visit).
Next we noticed that our car seemed to be losing power, so it was towed away, leaving us stranded on site for nine days. The repair cost us £450 but we were assured all was fine. We set off for the next site but part of the way there it became obvious that all was not fine with our car, and there were moments when we thought it wasn't going to make it up the next hill. However we got to the next site, eventually, and again the car was towed away. This time they informed us that the turbo had gone and that it would cost us £1750 to replace it.
Next we moved on to an area near the Med. where in temperatures of 40+ degrees the air conditioning on the caravan packed in. Finally on the way home, on the motorway, only 16miles from our house we had a flat tire and spent an hour on the hard shoulder waiting for help. Sooooo! I'm glad to be back....and I can't wait to see what I've been missing on Black Pearl Sims while I've been away! Ah yes! life does have it's compensations and this site is one of them!
