How do you play The Sims?

I used to play families. I grew bored with that though, but I love building houses and decorating them. Recently, I've learned to recolor and create my own CC so that's what I've been occupying myself (slooooowly learning).

I find most of my time spent on redecorating houses and lots! I love redesigning things to my aesthetic!

I used to play Sims 2 until it got boring and was ready to scrap the game until I found 3rd party CC and sites dedicated to the game. Then I became a CC addict... but even with CC in Sims 2, I did a lot more building and decorating. With Sims 3, I play a lot more than build, but I do tons of decorating and creating new sims. I then install them in a house or build a house around them and decorate it to the hilt then move on to the next lot If I'm not in the mood for building/decorating, I do play.

Hmmmm....Well I know when I first bought Sims 1 and thereafter came Sims 2...and yes I also bought Sims 3 but the playing seems to have hit a hybernation stage. Now I spend my time looking for great recolors and meshes for Sims 2. BPS is full of just that *GREAT CREATORS* I like decorating houses these days. I am sure I will play again one day but for now I enjoy what I do and I LOVE this site.

Well,i prefer building lots than playing around wih my sims.Till now,i have two favorite neighbourhoods(both created with Simcity 4)One Hood resembles a big urban city like New York(i`m fascinated by this city,especially by the architecture) where i build urban Rowhouses,Shops and Apartmentbuildings.
The other hood is a more rural or small town hood named Algonquin Bay.There i build smaller urban rowhouses and familyhomes.
I`m also always hunting after cool buildmode items in a more classic style(victorian or something between 1700 and 1900 a.d.)

What happen in their lifes is more in my head than in the game.

Sometimes what happen in my head turns out to be a story. But that is another story.

I have never ever ever played story line. Me hates it!!! I play with the little simmies like I was diety and they is my creation to watch over. Play all day long like a child with a toy house.

I wish I played with sims less but I cannot find another game which allows this much control. I'm a Forsaken Realms fan so I like remaking those characters I've read about over the years.

I don't create or share because the copyright obsession of who makes what custom content crap is insane and makes me sick to my stomach. I don't believe anyone has rights to claim but the corp that owns the game itself - EA, so I stay out of the mess by not making anything or talking about what I've downloaded. The only exception was when one site closed it doors and somehow I ended up with one of their sim dudes. I posted him on TheSimCave because I loved the creation so much. It still makes my skin crawl that someone might get edgy about it some day and drag me into court. People can be stupid greedy nasty creatures.

Well, most of the sim-time, I love take houses that already exist in the game, and I decorate them. And after, I create a new sim, and play in the house I decorated!
