How do you play The Sims?
Well, I've seen people saying they don't really play the game, just use it as some sort of tool to tell stories or take pictures, while others do things like these and also play the game. So, I got curious and want to ask you (if you don't mind): how do you play the Sims?

To be honest, I haven't actually "played" with a Sims Family for prolly a couple years maybe more.
I decorate for contest and recolor but that's about it for me
I rarely play at all - use it mostly as a tool!
I am like Matt. I actually bought the sims only 2,5 years ago and never really got into the 'playing' aspect of it. I love decorating and creating new stuff and I really enjoy participating in contests!

Right now, all I do is create cc. But I want to get back to decorating, taking pictures, making new sims AND most importantly playing the game. The only thing keeping me from it is lack of time.

Like the others, I'm mostly into decorating rooms for contests or JFF. I sometimes create a family or a single Sim so I have a character for whom I decorate.
I guess I would play with them too, if the screen was moving within the fully cluttered home XD and if the Sims would stop complaining about things laying around...

I'm also decorating houses but I also make sure my sims are still able to live in the house, and that can be a challenge sometimes with all the clutter I put in the houses
most of the time when I put my sims in the houses they can't acces the computer, toilet etc.

Hellooo!In the beginning of my Sims gameplay I was completely focused on playing with families. I made real people into Sims and just played the normal simlish life. Meeting, dates, friendships, marriage, babies, jobs and so on. But after I got and new computer, all Expansions packs and figured out how to build better and where I find awesome CC, I fell into a total intoxication of downloading, creating Sims, building and decorating. The actual playing became a rare thing for me. I was building around tons of houses, was deleting almost all of them and in the end I maybe used one for a new family.
Eventually I miss the normal gameplay now. My download folder is jam-packed with almost 100.000 files. Of course my game gets slow even though I have a great PC, and the whole thing overtaxes me totally.So, I will try to go back to the roots. Cleaning up the download folder and playing again with the Simmies.

I don't really play sims 2 because I've a lot of problems with it, so it's been a while I don't play it.I spend my time to delete corrupted files.The only thing I can do is making simmies thanks bodyshop and I sometimes recolour some objects for players (not for me currently).
The day I'll have a safe game, I'll play with my sims and build/decorate houses,redesign maxis' houses and maxis' sims as we usually should do.Maybe I'll write a story maybe I let them writting their own stories...I'll see what I'll do.
I won't participate in any contests I don't like competition at all.

As much as I love TS2, I dont really play anymore...I only create. Sometimes I will feed the sim who is testing the CC I have meshed........LOL
And although I really enjoy the gameplay of TS3, I just cant seem to recapture the (obsessive) fascination that I had in the beginning, when I first started playing TS1 and then TS2.
As much as I LOVE looking at contest pics/albums (peoples creativity is amazing)......I find decorating boring. The only time I put a room together is for a family.
