Number of Downloads??? [So curious about, please help.]

Hello folks! ( Hopefully I got the right section for the topic. )

It concerns the following ... I just checked my Sims Download folder via the Organiser and I almost freaked out after I've seen the number of content. It's about 12,500 DL's. That's a lot, isn't it? So I'm quite confused now and ask myself if that number could cause serious problems with my Sims game.

My question is: How many Downloads are you using at the same time in your folder?

well, my Download Organiser shows me a total of 14.700 downloads XD (i know... i don't have hobbies ;)) My computer is already a little older and I got all the expansion packs installed and the game is still running fine ^^ a little slow maybe from time to time XD

Incredible! i thought i had like 5bilions downloads but still.
I think soon i'll need to get through all of them and clean my DL folder up! It's a sad thing but i must do it because i've a shitty graphic card with not enough ram to let me play good! My graphic card has like 128mb of ram included and my pc has 4gb of ram but seems like it's not enough because, sometimes, my game crashes and i can't do nothing about it!
And i don't even have all the EP installed! *cries* i just hope to change by graphic board soon, like, after christmas.

Thank you for joining in! Wow, 14.700 ... well, that's still a bit more than I have at the same time, however I actually can't count it anymore since I change the DL's almost every day.
( Yeah, I know, don't have hobbies as well... )

I'm glad to read you don't have problems with all of your Sims packs and DL's even though your PC isn't the newest. That gives me a bit hope that my new PC will gonna make it. I'm scared to start my Sim game. Haha! I'm afraid it will crash or so.

Actually one of my dailies activity is to check my favourite creators to see if they've posted something!
Sounds weird right?
The fact is that, most of my downloads are just recolors of maxis stuff! Really! I mean, why can't maxis made some decent color? Or at least stuff that match?
That's drives me crazy, because i really like to decorate my houses with 2-3 tones and before all my download recolor was really hard to do so! (thank god, piggi sims exist!) But now everything matches *hearts in eyes*
So, believe me if i say "i understand what you mean"

I don't really need a new pc, mine was built in march, but i really need to change my graphic board, the guy brought a cheap one! Damn he!

I have a bit over 42,000
& every single expansion & stuff pack there is.
I only occasionally have a crash.
Usually the worst I deal with is a 40 minute wait for the game to first load & start playing...

Currently I have 35,272 files (12.3 GB) and my game runs well. It never crashes, all I have to put up with is the 40 odd minutes that it takes to load, and that's with all EPs and SPs. I do have quite a bit of ram and a good graphics card. The game does slow down a bit when I go a little overboard with clutter though.

Actually it doesn't sound weird because I'm the same with my favorite creators. When I can, I check them almost every day as well. YOu're nooot alone!
Maxis totally failed with its colors. True. I got a lot of recolors too, oh yah! And once I have my favorite furnitures and stuff I check if there are recolors.

Decorating my Sims houses drives me nuts most of the time. I love to do it but it really needs a lot of patience with all those OMSP's and Slots.

Oh, just the graphic board, ok. Well, ok, good luck with a new one then.

42,000 Downloads??? Every expansion and stuff pack? And your computer is still alive? Uh, okay. Goodness, and I thought I have many content in my folder.
Yeah, the time until the game is ready to play needs a lot of time, but 40 min is pretty heavy stuff. Wow.
I'm relieved to read that your game still works finde, though. Gives me hope.
Yes, all the wonderful clutter stuff out there is really a legal but hard drug!

hehehe, yeah, i have around 14GB worth of CC... i think that actually amounts to about 60,000 files, but I can't remember exactly.... and I still have a huge folder of stuff that I haven't added to my game yet! It's the reason I saved up and bought my new computer - for all the CC.

My old one just gave up and refused to function, said something about me abusing his rights as a computer or something silly like that! Now I have a brand new sparkly, shiny, super-fast computer and the old one and me, we don't talk anymore!

I have 23.064 files in my dl folder, all compressed to 4,51GB, and I have all EPs and SPs. My comp is about 4 years old, loading time is 20 min. My game crashs only when I try to install more files.
