Dec-o-Rate: distiction between those who have won and those who haven't
Hi there,
perhaps it's not the right place to ask here, but I would really like to know why there is a destinction between "Black Peerlers" and white ones to place the entry at the dec-o-rate. Does that matter for a reason that you have won a contest or not? It's not a critique, I'm just curious about it.

Hi Katrin........ I'm so happy to see you around the forum
The reason the staff decided to implement the Black Pearl system was for two reasons. One, was that we had times when the same experienced members were winning over and over, and while that is not a problem at all, it could be discouraging to those members who had never won or who had never entered a contest before. So, to become a black pearl you have to have won two staff hosted contests. The second reason was that we kept being asked by members why the staff who entered (designers and mods) were not included in the polls. We took it to a forum vote and the members decided to allow the staff and designers to be included in the polls. The staff and designers all have to compete in the black pearl category and if they win their Treasure Chest prize goes to the next member with the highest number of votes, because the designers and mod already have access to the prizes.
If there is only one entry in the Black pearl category then the two sets of entries are joined. The black pearl applies mostly to the decorating contests, staff and designers are not permitted to be included in the poll for CMC. Oh, and obviously the staff member hosting the contest cannot be voted for either.
