Here's my take on the whole "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", please keep in mind that I don't care one way or the other. I live in the Southern United States and there are a lot of ppl that are so against gays, that I think the ppl that are admittally gay are taking the risk of being beaten, or made to put themselves in greater danger of being killed because of not having their backs watched as closely. I know that's wrong, and it shouldn't matter who you have sex with, but the plain fact is there are extreme rednecks in the military (you know, that tough guys thing) that wouldn't think twice about making someone life a living hell or physically hurting them.
Think of all the hate crimes against gays, then think about the high stress rate in the military for those who are deployed, it's scarey to think about. I do hope that nothing like that would happen, and I think everyone should be able to serve. I just think it's asking for problems.
