Oh I know the camera has you all frustrated...one of those thing that I suffered from as well.
To Zoom in and out you roll the mouse wheel
To rotate the camera you click the mouse wheel and very slowly move the mouse and once in position left click
I will tell you that it is very sensitive so just make very small movement, barely moving your hand. The camera will take a bit of time to adjust to, try practicing between tutorials in your spare time.
Now for those suffering the problem of not being able to select the top and bottom of the cube. You have to click the 3rd box at the top - this selects individual faces. Then take you mouse and select the face you want, in this case the top and bottom. They will be green as you hover over them and turn red once you click them. Red means they are selected.

OK here is the hideous thing. I am sure that it is not correct. Can't say why, just a sick feeling. LOL And yes, your eyes are seeing correctly, no red just like everyone else's. I couldn't figure out how to get it red. Pallette gizmo won't work for me either. Oh my, i am a bitter little thing...LOL & I want this SOOOOO badly to work out.

It works completely differently for me. Scrolling zooms in and out. CTRl + ALT + scrolling moves left and right. SHIFT + CTRL + scrolling rotates up and down. SHIFT + ALT + scrolling rotates left and right.Originally Posted by Tinkle

The faces don't turn red? Well I have no idea why they wouldn't. Did you DL Wings 3D's newest version? I'll have to ask someone more familiar with the program, as I still haven't figured all of it's features out yet. Otherwise it looks like your table is done right...so there is a bit of happy news for you. Now just breathe...and know I felt much the same way and why I was late to the meshing party.
Eva: Will have to see if that works for me, I just move the mouse about after clicking the rolling mouse wheel between the two clicker buttons. Edit: Nope that doesn't work for me.
Another Edit: I haven't updated my Wings program to the newest version so perhaps they changed something? I am using version 1.1

Eva did you change any of the preferences? I honestly don't know why the camera works differently....
Oh...I think I found it, check your camera setting under preferences (the 1st box at the top right)
For those that find the speed of the camera too fast you could try adjusting the speeds....

I have wheel pans & rotates checked, but if I uncheck that, the way it was at first, I can't get the camera to move at all, except for zooming in and out. The rest of the settings are the same. Clicking the scroll wheel and moving the mouse doesn't do anything at all. I'll just leave it like it is. I'd rather have to hold down a few keys than not being able to use the camera at all.

Well I'm stumped...Yes you're right better to use keys and have the camera than not. Perhaps Mystic or Dee will be able to figure it out for us?

I just wanna say, I created the package and a simple table with another 3D software as I don't want to learn how to use another one. So I don't have an image, I hope it's ok.
