It can be an outside area. Pretty much just any space that you have designed. And to answer Hannie18's question, the rooms are not specially designed for this contest, they can be anything. And yes they should be 3-4 different rooms or areas.

About the date, I am fixing those as we speak! =) And there is a separate application and round 1.

Awesome! Thank you for the answer! Just have to filter through my stuff and see if I can still get into the application round even if I can't get my computer into a working gaming state. Man, there are a LOT of disks to reinstall!

sounds cool. The pictures for the application round do they have to be made especially for this contest or can we use pics from previous contests as well (as in a portfolio, taken literally)? Do they have to be 3 or 4 different rooms?

hey alexa, you missed a very good question. im not exactly sure what you have planned, so i didnt want to take it on myself in case i was wrong. but i would think that, yes it should be portfolio like and can be rooms of different varieties that may or maynot have been made for other contests. we just want to get an idea of the abilites your champion has. correct me if im wrong please.

I stated right there that it should be different rooms, and that they did not have to to specifically designed for this contest. =)

Why you want to be design champion and why you think you have what it takes: I think I have what it takes because I have a fairly versatile style and I think I can step up to almost any challenge.
Describe your dream house: My dream house would be a large modern home with an open feel, including lots of big windows, surrounded by plants.

Hi,

My name is Gerard Lancaster, 27 years old and I'm an account-manager.

And for as long as I can remember I wanted to be a designer. But my parents wouldn't allow me to enter art-school, so I ended up.....managing accounts.

I design interiors in my spare time for friends and family. Even my parents asked for my advice!

I think I can become design-champion, because I'm a born designer, with a keen eye for color and textures.
Obsessed by 50's and 60's design. But I'm not afraid to experiment.

I have a big admiration for mid-century designers.
So my dream house would be in Palm Springs, designed by Richard Neutra or the Alexander Construction Company
....or just anything with a butterfly-roof and a central fireplace.
The house would be filled with mid-century classics and some of my own designs.
