Oh wow, I think I have to be the one to bite the head off!
I went with what in my mind is an artsy kitchen: a little worn with 'flea market' touches but oh so warm and inviting. Of course the artist is not rich and mainly does his/her living in the kitchen as that's where the fire place is and is just a comfy room to be in to paint, knit, read or even cook (because isn't that what kitchen were really intended for?).
I hope you enjoy this kitchen as much as I had decorating it!
Thanks Krista for this unique idea and hosting the contest! :youstar:

Great theme!!!
I tried to give 2 styles to this kitchen: modern / country. I thought that as an artist the sim who lives here would have various tastes so I mixed objects, colors and materials and added looooots of windows. It's a place to eat, live and... find inspiration for her / his next paintings. :smiliheart:

This Sim's artistic taste is a mix of modern eclectic. She likes clean lines and her passion is painting altho she dabbles in pottery/sculpture as well. She gets her inspiration from magazines, outdoors, just about anywhere.

Natasha Hudson recently moved into a century-old downtown loft. She loved parts of it, but was excited to makeover what she didn't. Her favorite part of the loft was that it was split level, and with that she added in a bar/counter to sit, eat, paint, whatever she pleased. Since this room is her favorite of the loft, it's where she does all of her painting, while watching her favorite TV shows.
Natasha didn't have one specific theme, her style was more "If I like it, Ill put it in there". A table with no matching chairs? Hello 'Friends'!

My artist bought an old house on the countryside. It was cheap and she didnt bother to renovate as it was livable as it was. She furnished with things she bought from fleemarkets and yardsales, colourful and missmatched but not expensive. The kitchen for her is a place to cook for and entertain friends and she likes colours so this is the result.

Yay kitchen contest!
My artist lives in a basement in the city. She mostly does graffiti, but takes pictures and put together modern sculptures as well.
When she doesnt do her own art she likes collecting posters.

WOW! All of these entries are so fantastic. I feel so inferior, yall are amazing.
But here we go with my entrie.
My view of an artist's home is a mix of wild colors and earthy tones. Cold stone and bright warm colors. I also felt clutter, messy, and scatter-brained fit it perfectly. But also a nice clean elegance that you see through the windows. There is some method to the madness but it is just hard to see and everything has a meaning. No matter if it the cabinets or the book on the floor.
Also cooking is an art to me so there is alot of cooking things along with pottery and paints. Reading and knowledge is also an art there there are books everywhere and so is gardening so that is why you see a beautiful garden through the windows and alot of plants.
Also detail is everything to an artist along with the whole picture, so there are ALOT of little details.
Sorry for such terrible pictures. I really stink at taking pictures. It is not my thing. LOL.

My entry! This is my first contest so be kind!
(I think the pictures are the right size)
My artist dosen't know what style she likes, but whatever it is it has to be funky! Bright colours, old or modern she dosen't care! Every item in her house has a story, her kitchen isn't big but it's character makes up for it.
