I'd say it's totally out of question. I don't think that the files in Sims 3 will be in .package format either.
I don't think so either as the graphics are different etc. just as you can't use Sims 1 CC in Sims 2 it'll probably be the same with Sims 3. I wished it was possible then I'd buy Sims 3 in a heartbeat, now I'll hold off until there will be CC available for it. No way am I going to play without CC!!

I think it will most definitely be out of the question...however, I've read a few posts regarding sims3 cc and apparently it will be a whole lot easier to create/recolour cc!
About the CC in sims 3 I don't really know if it will be easy or not, but after I have seen in game pictures I think that I will be much easy for us to convert from sims 2 to sims 3 because I have all the meshes from all my sets and if there will be a program for creating CC in sims 3 the only thing I have to do is to convert the meshes for sims 3 and attach the textures again. If you look to the pictures from sims 3 you will see that the objects are the same and I think they use the same 3D programs to make them as in sims 2.
I don't see such a big difference between 2 and 3, just you can edit your character better and a new open living neighborhood, the graphics and the furniture are the same as in sims 2

Indeed Ella. I can't buy the game if I have to wait for some time until the creators started creating nice CC for it.
I wish we could use Sims 2 CC, how wicked would that be...but unfortunately it would be impossible, apart from the different file types there would be different animations and BHAVS etc...for example a bookcase in Sims 2 might have a study option, write in diary option etc..in Sims 3 those behaviours and animations could be completely different...so it wouldn't work.
Hopefully once a SimPE for Sims 3 has been made it won't be too difficult to convert everything, I'll be converting some of my files if it's possible.
