Itll be the material definition settings.
Try reducing the stdMatEnvCubeCoef to a lower number. 0-1 and 1 is the most shine.
Also, look for this: stdMatEnvCubeMode, if its on "reflection", you could change it to none. The next line down stdMatEnvCubeTextureName will have a reflection envcube if the line before it is on "reflection". If you switch the line before to "none" then the reflection below can be deleted.
Material definition tutorials are plentiful over at mts2 so take a browse over there if the above doesnt get you the results you require.
